The Cowra High Open Girls hockey team had a great start to the season with three wins and a draw in the first rounds of the CHS Knockout Competition. (ironic that the draw was against some other local hockey players at Canowindra High).
The team now progresses to the next round in Bathurst on April 3.
Registration Information: There was a good roll-up of juniors on registration day two and Cowra Hockey would like to welcome all of the new comers to our sport - we will do our best to make it a happy and successful debut season for you.
However the Open players were a bit thin.
It is essential that two representatives from each Open side be at the next hockey meeting so that the person/s drafting the draw know how many teams are going to be entered into the competition, which officially begins on April 21.
A No Pay No Play policy will be strictly enforced this season.
All fees must be paid in full before a player can take the field.
U/15's: All u15's players are to attend the muster day on Saturday March 31 at 12:30pm until 2:30pm.
This day is necessary to form the u15's teams for the competition.
If you're a junior player and you missed the registration days then it is important to attend this junior muster day.
There will not be a muster day on March 24 due to the election.
If you cannot make it contact Brenda Hannan on 6342 5761.
Any persons who would be able to manage one of these junior teams please contact Brenda - this is a great opportunity for our younger senior players to make a contribution to the association and take on a guiding role for the juniors, you will be supported by the experienced members of the association.
Prospective representative players: Any player u18's male and female who want to be a part of this year's representative teams must give their name and contact details to Brenda either at the at the u15's muster days or by phone so that the rep teams can be organised.
The Girls Western Conference Carnival for u11, u13, u15 and u18 is on April 29.
Canteen: The association is looking for a person/s keen to run the canteen each week - remember many hands make light work and the responsibility may be shared between a couple of people.
Please ring Linda Jonkers if you are interested on 6342 9238.
General Meeting: The next general meeting will be on Monday April 2 at the Library Rooms starting at 7pm.
Reminder that each senior team is to have two representatives present.
Canowindra players: there will be a special registration day on March 22 from 5-6pm at the town basketball courts.
All players need to register on these days from Minky to Seniors.
The fees are unchanged from last season: Minky and u11's - $22; 18 and under - $55; Seniors - $80.
The fees cover all costs incurred by NSW Hockey plus insurance.
There is also a Family Fund Raising Levy of $20 per family.
