Tuesday Ladies Presidents day luncheon was held and congratulations on behalf of the club to President Betty Jenkins and all who helped
organise the day, also I was lucky enough to be invited with my wife.
The only down part of the day was when the ladies laughed at me saying that I missed out on a vegemite sanwich to come to one of the best
lunches I've had in a long time. (Thanks to the ladies I ended up having a vegemite sandwich for tea!!
Thursday saw the highschool teachers having an afternoon of bowls, while I was scouting to see if there were any future players I noticed Terry showing them a trick or two and that must have been their downfall.
Apart from four teachers with a big future in the game the rest are more than welcome to play but do not teach the kids how to play bowls!
Please stick to science, maths , english etc... (doing a great job there).
Games played on Saturday:
K Fisher and M Gosper 24 v's C Pickard and M Wright 38
Most of the 24 points came from M Gosper with Ken happy to have won last week, (first time this year).
D Dalton and D Noble 21 v's B Robson and B Turner 20
This game was 20 all after 21 ends with an extra 3 ends to be played to get the final result (great game). Barney, you can't rely on Bobbie all the time!!
Sunday
R Brooks and B Crump 12 v's B Robson and S Fisher 25.
Ron and Barry didnt jump out of the gates this game with Steven Fisher taking advantage and Barney finishing it off (well played).
Consistency
T Mooney 154 v's R Huckle 151
One point separating the last 12 ends saw a great game and pity there had to be a winner!!
Sunday 22nd November
The final of the consistency between T Mooney v's D Beath. I have never met two more argumentative players than these two, so I was appointed to mark this final because my reputation is no nonsense and not afraid to show my authority, the only problem, they are both St George supporters so there will be no favouritism (it should be a great game).
