Canowindra had three teams enter this contest with the team of Colleen Crump and Gwen Haydon again taking out this prestigious event again in 2008.

I believe the games were all tough ones and it just shows how well our girls can handle the pressure.

From all the Lady Bowlers in Canowindra, congratulations to Colleen and Gwen.

By now you have probably all heard that our Pennants Teams were successful in winning the No 4 Pennants in our District.

We are now off to Dubbo towards the end of May and the fund raising has started.

The winner of our Meat Tray raffle was Ken Perry. We have tickets to raffle for a TV set and various other forms of fund raising are being held.

Last Tuesday we played two Club matches – a round of the Major Singles between Betty Jenkins and Nancy Morrow was held with Nancy coming out the winner. The other game was a match of the Minor Singles between Christine Pickard and Di Mooney.

Christine was the winner in this game. Both winners now move on to the next round.

We played one game of social bowls and this was a triples match between the remaining bowlers. Our best wishes go to Merlene for a speedy return to bowls.

District Triples are being held at Parkes Railway Diggers Club 28 April and we wish our teams entering this event good bowling.
