Early in the match both players wasn't going to give each other a strong lead by keeping it a close match 59-51 in favour of Thompson.

Lynch tried everything to close the gap but Thompson had other ideas putting in the odd good bowl to keep Lynch out of reach on the 17th end Lynch was trailing by 112 to 108.

This could have been the down fall for Lynch, both players went in for drinks on the 18th end.

From there Thompson came out blazing playing shots like you have never seen before.

Semi final of mixed pairs was also interesting on the weekend.

It was between Joe Armstrong and Gwen Hayden up against Gavin Fynan and Colleen Crump.

Armstrong and Hayden raced away holding a handy lead of 17 to 9. Halfway through the match coming into the second half Fynan and Crump must have had a team talk or Armstrong and Hayden went to sleep because in the last ten ends Fynan and Crump scored 18 shots to four to take the match 37 to 24.

This now has put Fynan and Crump in the final.
