This Saturday will be the Ron Worboys Memorial Pairs Tournament.
This tournament is very popular and 28 teams have already nominated including a number of visiting teams.
It should be a great day of bowls.
On Saturday we hold our Anniversary Triples.
This day also needs 28 teams but we are a few teams short; I'm sure we will have enough by Friday.
Last weekend's results:
Minor Singles – V Mirto defeated C Balcombe 34-8; S Lynch defeated K Turner 31-7; M Wright defeated T Hayden 31-7.
Major Singles
Bill Draper had his hands full against Peter Taylor
Peter sneaked away to lead 19-10 then Bill found another gear in the next nine ends, grabbing 12 shots to lead 22-19.
From there Bill carried on to take the match 31-25.
Ian Messenger should be on cloud nine after defeating last year's champion Ian Nelder.
Messenger stuck to his guns playing excellent draw shots to keep Nelder at bay.
On the 18th end Nelder had the lead at 13-12, that was it for Nelder as Messenger put the foot down and raced away with the game scoring 21 shots to seven and taking the match 33-20.
Well done Dally on your fist major singles match.
For you Dunkin, more practice on Thursdays.
Wednesday $1900; Friday $500. Ticket duty Dool and Dally.
Reminder: Bowlers Major and Minor Pairs nominations are now open.
