Last Tuesday we were able to put together three of our Club matches which was a feat in itself as we had 13 bowlers on the greens; what a great effort girls.
Two Major Singles matches were played, the first one was between Betty Jenkins & Jill Messenger. Betty overcame her nerves to beat Jill convincingly.
In the second one was Libby Balcombe who played Betty Hodge - this was a close match but Betty was the winner on the day. Congratulations to our winners who now go through to the next round.
In the Minor Singles match Sheryn Fisher played Di Dawes.
Sheryn was the winner of this match, congratulations Sheryn on your win.
We played one game of social bowls & we wish Merlene a swift recovery & hope to have her back with us on the greens real soon.
Next big event coming up in Canowindra will be Veterans Day to be held 13 May, 2008. We have 6 candidates for this day, so hope they can all make it along for the game of bowls & friendship.
Just a reminder bowlers, that the 2nd Tuesday of the month is our Visitors Day. All new prospective bowlers are invited to come along & have a go on the beautifully manicured greens at Canowindra Bowling Club.
