Canowindra Apex has agreed to take on the running of the Canowindra Touch Football competition for the 2001/2002 season.
The competition will continue to be run on the same successful lines as the past few years. The emphasis will again be on participation and fun in a social competition.
A muster day will be held next Monday, October 15, at the Oval at 6.30 pm. Team nominations will be taken at this muster. It is planned to start the competition the following week.
Get your teams organised quickly. Teams consist of 12 players, at least two of which need to be girls, and at least two must be over 30.
A team captain must be nominated who is willing to attend meetings and collect fees, as well as ensure that the team plays in the spirit of the game.
Fees this year will be $200 per team. Each team must have at least two players who are willing to referee and all team members must be willing to carry out duties.
The competition can cater for a maximum of 12 teams and, as the level of interest is high, it is essential that you are at the muster day or you could well miss out.
A meeting will be held this Thursday 11th at 7pm at the Royal Hotel, for the outgoing committee to hand over the running of the competition to Apex. Anybody interested in attending and contributing is most welcome.
For further information contact Ken Wilson (Apex secretary) or Mark Brown (Apex Touch Football co-ordinator).
Apex will also be running a Junior Touch competition for kids in Years 5, 6, 7 and 8, commencing later in the year. Information for this will come through the schools.
