For all those people who want to have fun and improve their fitness, summer is here again which means the start of Aquatherapy classes.
Exercises in the water are easier to do and less stressful on the joints.
You do not need to be able to swim to take part in the Aquatherapy classes.
The hour-long sessions involve walking in the water, specific exercises for each join, aerobic exercises and cool down stretches, all to music.
"The Aquatherapy classes over the past four years have been a lot of fun, and participants felt their fitness and energy levels improved" said physiotherapists Ashley Wright and Sue Johnson.
"There is increasing evidence about the benefits of physical activity.
Exercising regularly reduces the risk of heart disease and strokes, improves muscle strength and balance, and helps with weight control, diabetes and high blood pressure.
"And above all, it makes you feel good.
These classes are a good way to start or to provide variety if you already exercise regularly," says Ashley.
The Aquatherapy classes will be held on Mondays from 9.00am to 10.00am at Canowindra Pool, commencing on December 4.
The classes are for adult men and women and all newcomers are welcome to attend.
The cost is $1.50 for pool entry and $80.00 for a single person ticket.
Tea and coffee and yummy morning tea are provided afterwards by the caretaker of the pool (free of charge).
Come and join in and have some fun as well!
