The Cowra Junior Cricket Association season for 2006-2007 starts this Saturday 21 October, 2006 with Canowindra again having teams in all age divisions.
The registration muster day was a big success with many children and parents attending.
The under 10s commence at River Park, Cowra where all their games are played and where the under 12s and under 14s play will be confirmed with coaches at training his week.
The under 16s in Cowra at this stage are so low on numbers that the competition may not commence this week.
More will be known at training on Thursday at the school nets. Any boys interested in playing cricket here in Canowindra at the 16 year age division should contact Nick Guthrie.
Players are requested to be at the grounds by at least 8.30am in order to play at 8.45am and do not forget the slip, slop, slap.
Milo mornings also are ready to begin this Saturday morning.
The scene for this fun is opposite the golf course just above the changing sheds on the north playing field.
The scoring night has been arranged and is planned for 6.30pm tonight at the Services Club.
Everyone is welcome and it is better to know how to score in advance than learning on the day.
We are not sure if it was true that BIG BAD Tony Beath just spent three days in hospital to get out of scoring.
The nurses were awake to Tony, however, and quietly asked him to leave!
The representative sides were finalised last Saturday and congratulations go to our boys who made these teams.
At this stage they are Jacob "Devil" Devlin in the under 12s and in the under 14s Conor Lamond, Elijah Beath, Zac Rue and Peter Guthrie.
Good luck with a big season ahead boys!
Finally, it's good luck to all girls and boys who are playing cricket and the littlies in Milo.
We hope everyone enjoys themselves. The Milo children are so important because they and the under 10s are the nursery of our club and the graded players of the future.
News of matches in all age divisions will be presented weekly thanks to our great local sponsors who will be named in reports.
