Laura McLaughlan and Haydon Hodge have been training hard to improve their swimming times.

Laura is aiming at breaking 30 seconds for the 50 metres freestyle.

Haydon Hodge has already broken the magic minute for the 100 metres freestyle at only 14 years of age.

Last Sunday Haydon travelled to Dubbo to compete in the Western Districts Swim Tech Carnival and recorded a time of 59.75 seconds in the final of the open men's 100 metres.

A strong representation from Sydney and Newcastle Clubs were at the Carnival.

Haydon came away with a win in the 100 metres breastroke and a 3rd in the butterfly.
