Jesse Jenkins of Canowindra has just arrived home from Canada, where he competed at two meets in track and field.
The young athlete was selected for the international tour after impressing at State Championships last year, competing in Canada with a Talented Athletes group.
Young adults from all over Australia participated in the friendly tour against Canada's best.
The Canowindra student's rapidly improving track times resulted in the event switch, with Jesse starring on the track, instead of the planned shotput and discus.
Jesse came home with one gold medal, two bronze and eight ribbons.
He was the starting runner in the 15 Years Boys 4 x 100m relay, which set a new International Record.
Jesse and his family would like to thank the following people - the Canowindra Hotel, Apex Lions, Rotary, RSL, JRL, Billican, The Canowindra Trading Post, BP, Mr Guihot and all of you who supported our raffles and sent good wishes.
Jesse is now looking to focus on track, after his Canadian success.
