Chris Williams U8's
What a close game for the Tigers! Playing one of the strongest sides in the competition, the Tigers gave it everything they had. Great runs by all the boys, and some wonderful tackling. Everyone who played had awesome games, with tries coming from Jake Hutchings 1, Nathan Whatman 1, and Callum Clyburn 3. Some precision kicking this game saw only one try not converted. Wesley Blair, Max Wensley, Jake Hutchings and Callum Clyburn all kicking goals. A pat on the back goes to all players as they played hard all game and had a great time doing it. Well done TIGERS!!! Final score Red Bend 30 - Tigers
Canowindra Services Club U10's
Who are we in the black and gold?? We're Canowindra Services Club under 10's. First try of the game went to Redbend which was not converted. With a shaky start for the Tigers a couple of knock ons temporarily put on the wrong foot. Zak Whitehead soon gained metres with hard straight runs. First try for Canowindra was by Alex Willson which he successfully converted thanks to Zak setting up the try. Josh Trayhurn caught the ball from the kick off, ran 70metres to score our second try of the day which was successfully converted by Bailey Cain. Bradyn Cassidy was carried off the field early after taking a hard knock in a tackle sidelining him for the rest of the game. Redbend scored their second try which they did not convert making the score 12-10 Canowindras way six minutes remaining in the first half. Try to Bailey Cain which was successfully converted by Zak. Harry the Magnifcant Whatman going over the try line which Rohan Toole converted making the half time score 24-10 Canowindras way. Pleasing to see the team introduce their decoy run made by Bailey and Zak. Josh came off injured leaving us with one reserve. Rohan Toole doing a great try saving tackle taking Redbend out over the side line. Two fast tries to Redbend taking the score to 24-20. Bailey was now off injured leaving the team with no reserves. Alex Willson scored his second try which was unsuccessfully converted by Dan Friend making the score 28-20 with three minutes to go. Try saving tackle by Zak taking Redbend out of the field of play. Absent from the team were Jordi Brown, Jumara Cutmore and Robert Weigold. Alex, Harry, Rohan, Tyler, Zak, Bailey, Louis and Josh all having great games in defence with Alex doing 5 tackles in one set. Harry, Bailey, Zak and Alex had great games in attack. Tara Jenkins played well in the centres making her highest tackle count this season. Warren Ackroyd dived on the ball giving Tigers control of the game again. Sam Mckenzie recovering from pneumonia ended up having to play almost a full game of football and played extremely well. Talby Upton recovering from illness also played a great game. Congratulations team on an exciting nail biting game of football. Also congratulations to our other teams for outstanding games of footy today.
Canowindra Hotel U11's
The U11's this week had their hardest battle yet. Red Bend put in a great game to run away with a win over the mighty Tigers. Tigers played an excellent game. With a few players short the great runs just couldn't quite make the line. Jayden Brown scored a brilliant try to put the Tigers on the board and Michael Watt converted it in style. All the players tackled extremely well, and chased down every loose ball and made some great runs. This mighty Tigers team always play their best and have a great time doing so. Well done boys your playing great footy. Final score Red Bend 18 - Tigers 6.
Earsmans Concrete U12's
This Tigers team must have eaten their weetbix this week as they had a huge turn around this week. Their minds were on the game and they all gave it a 100%. Tigers need to run onto the ball a bit more and their score lines will change dramatically. Jacob Devlin and Troy Jenkins both had some great runs digging in and pushing through Red Bends defence. Harry Myers and Kain Earsman topped the tackle count with some great tackling. All the boys this week tackled extremely well. It was a top effort by all. I do believe they might of enjoyed themselves this week. Well done Tigers. Final score Red Bend 22 - Tigers 0.
Canowindra Produce U14's
The Gallant u14's this week found themselves stranded with only 14 players finding their way to Red Bend. Even though the boys didn't have reserves to fall back on they stepped up and made some brilliant tackles that they thought were impossible. They moved the ball around well and varied their attacking game trying out some new moves. The boys then had 2 big blows when Luke W, Blake W and Josh C were all taken out of the game with injuries, we wish them a speedy recovery. This gives us a bit of an idea of just how physical this game was. Tigers were now down to 11 players and found it difficult to keep Red Bend out of the try line. This did not affect the boy's spirit; they fought hard to the bitter end. Kelton Morgan-Smith had his best game yet, getting involved in all aspects of the game with 11 hit-ups and 10 tackles. James V toped the stats with 17 hit-ups and 13 tackles. Brodie Friend tackled everything in sight, with Gerard E being very busy in the backs coming up with some great try saving tackles. Tom Roth scored the only Tigers try with a great blind side movement. Tom made a number of breaks and was solid in defence. Luke H, Brad O, Mat B and Sean W all had good games, giving their best. Red Bend were good in finding the gaps but did in no way out shine the mighty Tigers. All the boys should be proud of the way they held their heads high and played hard all the way to the end. Well done Tigers. Final score Red Bend 66 - Tigers 4. West Wylong is next on the list, let's see if we can't pull off some of those set plays practised at training!!!
Kitome U16's
Well what a close and exciting game from the U16's Tigers. With the crowd ooooing and aaaaing with every bone crunching tackle made by both teams, this became the battle of the fittest. Tigers went out hard in the first half with Ronny, Cho, Haydon and Kain slaughtering Red Bends every effort to pass them. Red Bend then got a bit fired up and frustrated with the Tigers superb defence and busted through scoring 2 tries. Tigers quickly recouped and with some hard and smart running Haydon Hodge went over to score one of the Tigers 2 tries. Michael Traves shifted Red Bends ideas if running down the wing, with some great defence. Cameron and Aaron both made some great Hit ups and great tackles. Brad Tangye also went over the line with some great ball work from the boys. Aaron kicked well and converted a try. Red Bend however, kept pushing the line and came away with the win. All the boys played great footy and are continuing to bring the best out of each other with great team work. An excellent display of good sportsmanship! The U16's competition is extremely hard hitting and physical and all the boys show no fear at all, only determination. Well done Tigers!! Final score Red Bend 20 - Tigers 10.
