Leaders needed for senior touch comp

25 Oct, 2006 07:44 AM
Its time to get the Canowindra Senior Touch Football up and running for the 2006 and 2007 season.

It's planned to go ahead under the same rules as last year, with teams of twelve, each with at least two girls and two over thirty players.

Insurance, draws, fields and all those things are easily organised, but it appears that getting started is a problem.

Long time touch football coordinator, Eric Toole retired at the end of last season, but has offered to help kick start the competition for this season.

A meeting will be held this Thursday night at the Golf Club to gain an idea of interest and to work out the running of the competition.

If you intend nominating a team, then you should have somebody at this meeting

If enough interest is expressed in running the competition then a registration day will be held next Monday, October 30th at the Rugby Clubrooms, between 6 and 6.30pm.

This will be the only time that teams can be registered. Hopefully the competition can then start the following Monday, November 16th.

A maximum of twelve teams can join the competition, so make sure that you have your team organised before the night.

Organisers will need to know your team name, proposed colours and the names of players. As has happened in the past two years, each team must also be prepared to take on a responsibility for some aspect of running the competition.
