Pythons gearing up for Blowes Cup

15 Mar, 2006 07:42 AM
The rugby season is creeping up on us again and Canowindra is gearing up for a competitive year in the Blowes Cup.

This year as you are probably all aware, we are fielding three teams - first grade, second grade and under 19's and we would like anyone interested in playing rugby in Canowindra to come along to our registration night tomorrow night, March 16 at 7pm.

Along with our registration night we will also be having a meet and greet night for players, partners and the parents of any of our under 19's or any social members or non members who would like to attend.

We have recently appointed our coaching staff which consist of our new seniors coach Chris Tyson and our under 19's coach and local teacher, John Nugent.

Chris comes to us with a very strong background in rugby, coaching at Petersham rugby club in Sydney for six years.

John comes to us from Bathurst and has played rugby most of his life including St Josephs college in Sydney and at Bathurst CSU Mitchell and co-coaching the under 20's whilst there as well.

Dinner will be available as it is also our beer and pie night for the seniors (coke and pie night for our under 18's) so come along and meet the team, coaches and our new committee and help support the Pythons in 2006.

If you have any queries about rugby in Canowindra or would like to help with anything do not hesitate to call me, Ross Butler on 0428 524 908.
