Pythons to field three teams

22 Feb, 2006 07:57 AM
The 2006 rugby season has been keenly awaited for many years from the Canowindra Pythons. With the Club fielding 3 teams in the revised Blowes Cup Competition. The club is aiming high with strong player numbers and a keen committee.

Our new President is Ross Butler, Treasurer Ces Balcomb and Secretary is Kilby Lawerence, all are fired up to make this year count.

However the club still hasn't selected a first grade coach and interests are being sought, it is a fantastic opportunity for an upcoming coach who wishes to make something out of coaching, having the ability to structure and mould a club into their style of play.

If there are any interested parties out there they can contact Ross Butler on 02 63442027 or 0428 524 908

Thursday night is our first official night of training although the boys have been training for over a month already. So if anyone is interested to have a run this year turn up the Oval at 6.30pm. The great advantage of this year to players is that irrespective of age, ability and commitment there is definitely a place for you. This is the one thing that has been lacking with only one team. Especially for younger players the colts competition is an under 19's comp so we would really like to encourage young players to try Union out.

Although we don't want any players to be under any illusions we are looking to win this competition in all grades and not to simply make up the numbers against the other clubs. This is a big step up for the Club and we want to make the town proud of us.
