Rohan Toole takes part in NSW team squash titles

21 Jun, 2006 08:03 AM
Canowindra junior squash player Rohan Toole has returned victorious from the NSW team squash championships held in Newcastle recently.

Rohan was selected to represent Western Districts in the prestigious "Green Shield" one of the longest running junior squash competitions in Australia.

Nine year old Rohan represented in the under 11's section.

He played matches against representatives from Newcastle, Sydney, North Coast and ACT.

He won all his matches without dropping a single game.

Western dominated the event, winning ten of the divisions and after a long spell without success has managed to win the shield two years in a row.

Although Rohan also plays junior squash in Orange he proudly claims to represent the Canowindra Squash Club at all these representative fixtures.

His next challenge is the NSW individual junior age titles to be held at the headquarters of NSW squash at Thornleigh in July.

Rohan is expected to perform well in this competition and will have a state ranking at the completion.

A NSW squad is selected from this event, however state representation does not begin until players are in the under 13's division.
