Start of the 2006 hockey season is rapidly approaching

15 Mar, 2006 07:40 AM
Hockey is played in Cowra by girls and ladies of all ages and boys to the age of 16 years.

With Minky, U/11's, U/15's plus Open B and A grade there is a competition suitable to all ages and abilities. Players require a hockey stick (kids can borrow from the association's stock), shin pads and mouth guard.

Whether you're a veteran or a beginner, new and seasoned players are most welcome to join in.

As the start of the hockey season rapidly draws near there are a few dates to remember.

1. There will be a general meeting at the Cowra Bowling Club at 7pm on Monday 20th March. ALL teams who are intending to participate in this year's competition must have a representative at this meeting. For those who are not associated with a team but want to find out more you are most welcome to attend.

2. There will be registration days held on the verandah at McDonald's on March the 23rd and 24th from 4 - 6pm. All players are invited to register on these days from Minky to Seniors.

3. The junior players will commence their season on Saturday 1st of April - Minky, U/11's and U/15's with two grading weekends. All interested junior players are expected to attend on these days. Seniors will begin their competition the first weekend after the Easter break but are most welcome to come for a hit when the juniors are grading.

For anyone requiring any information about hockey please contact the President of Cowra District Hockey - Linda Jonkers - 63429238 or the Registrar - Carol Brown - 63424702.
