With the Tigers down 10 points in the first ten minutes they made sure that Manildra didn't score another point. Showing some terrific team work and determination the boys stole the game back. Miles M, Shae R, Sam W and Jack T all played hard defence making some great tackles. Jai B, Wesley B, Jake H and Will M kept Manildra on their toes making some great runs. With the support of his team, super scorer Callum ran in 3 tries and kicked a conversion. Max W and Nathan W also grit their teeth, ducked and weaved to score a well deserved try each. Max and Sam W also kicked terrific conversions. These Tigers have been playing so well considering a lot of them haven't played before. We must thank their coaching staff on a job well done. Services Club U10's
Jumara scored our first try of the game. A great run by Joshua Trayhurn to score our second try. Our third try of the day was scored by Bradyn Cassisdy which he successfully converted. Great run by Alex Willson who was tackled but some how passed off to Bradyn. A great run by Jumara. Good hit and spin by Zac Whitehead making up extra ground. Great tackle by Rohan Toole forcing Manildra over the sideline to get the ball back. Again, a try to Bradyn. Warren Ackroyd then had a great run. Jordi Brown took the ball well off a hard kick. A long pass out to Bradyn put him over the line. Bradyn once again ran in his fourth try which was converted by Jumara. Bailey Cain scored a quick try. Tigers eighth and last try of the game then came from Alex. Tara Jenkins made two good tackles late in the game. Dan Friend, Tyler Reid, Talby Upton and Louis O'Keefe all played their positions well which helped secure the game. Players Player for the game was Jumara Cutmore, also a mention to Rohan Toole for a great defensive game. Sam McKenzie and Harry "The Magnificent" Whatman were absent due to injury and illness. It was great that the team had a win for the day, but we didn't see what these Tigers can really do. With a sluggish start, 5 missed goals, knock-ons, dropped balls and other errors tigers need to be at their best to concur Condobolin on Saturday. The kids appeared to be asleep on their feet when they arrived on Saturday. So hopefully a good training session on Thursday and an early night on Friday will make for an exciting actioned packed game this Saturday. Final score Tigers 38 - Manildra 0. Good luck Tigers!
Earsmans U12's
What a Magical game for these Tigers. With their first win of the season these tigers should be extremely proud of their performance. This game was a pleasure to watch, you could see the boys actually enjoying the challenge. Running straight and hard with Jack B getting the ball out quickly, Kain, Michael C, Matty M and Troy J all scored brilliant tries. Keeping everyone on the edge of their seats but unlucky to score Harry M, Nick W and Jack K chased the try line all day finding gaps in Manildra's defence. Our little terriers Kye R, Makk M, Simon W, Jayden B, Nick T and Mick W squashed Manildra's every effort to gain ground. Hayden F, Tim W, Blake W, James W, Kurt T and Jamie Grant played hard all game, well done boys. All the Tigers played extremely well in every aspect of the game. With the clever tactics from the coaching staff mixing it up a bit, we witnessed players shine in positions they normally don't play in. Congratulations Tigers!!! Final score TIGERS 22 - Manildra 0.
Canowindra Produce U14's
Under 14's let a 20-8 half time lead go to be beaten by Manildra 32-20. The young forwards had trouble holding the bigger pack and the centres had to cover the line breaks. This allowed Manildra to gain numbers on the fringes. Being put under pressure in defence makes the players tired and makes it difficult to hold onto the ball for six tackles.
Jesse and Kelton were impressive with their powerful running. In defence all tried hard with top tacklers Jesse(23), Luke W(14) Sean W (19) and Beau M (13) although being replaced in the first half due to injury. Good Luck Tigers. Final score Manildra 32 - Tigers 20.
At home to Condo this week we will start at 9.30am U8's, U16's at 10am, U10's 11.15am, U11's at 12noon, U12's at 1pm, u!4's at 2.00pm. The U12's Will be doing the raffle this weekend.
Kitome U16's
With new comers Anthony Toohey and Blake Tidswell making their presence felt and some brilliant team work this week, Tigers snapped up their first win of the season. Haydon Hodge found the line twice, with some great hard running. James, Ronald, Kane and Aaron W squashed Manildra's attempts to break through the line. Cameron and James both collected points with hard earned tries. Great persistence by Brad Tangye and Keiren Upton saw them both find gaps in Manildra's defence and scored great tries. Some terrific team work ensured the Tigers the win against Manildra. Michael Traves constant all-round effort saw him receive player's player this week. Michael has proved that you don't have to score tries to be a star; you just need to give your best constantly as he does every game. A great win for the Tigers. With the next game against Condo all Tigers will need to dig deep and use their aggression to play a hard clean game, as Condo proves to be a tough and fiery competitor. Well done boys.
