Well it's been a long time between game reports and that is mostly due to our coach Vinny being gagged by the Mafia after last year's grand final win.
The rumour was that if he wrote any more columns the big boys were going to muscle in on the action and take their percentage from us.
Vince wrote to his uncle Guiseppe in Italy to explain that we have no money but uncle Guiseppe rang back and told him to lie low for a while.
The big boys were busy in Italy fixing games and had heard how good his side was and were looking to expand their business in Australia.
So we went looking for a new reporter.
Renae put her hand up for one week and did a good column, but alas that was all we could get her to do.
I thought to myself this is not fair for our players, supporters, and sponsors, so to bring you up to date since our last report this is what happened.
At the end of round one we finished on 4 wins and 3 losses. Not bad because we are notoriously slow starters.
The start of the second round saw us play arch rivals Orange Waratahs at home.
We haven't beaten this side since 2004.
Coach Vince and Luca hatched a plan to beat them, and with the girls following it to the letter we came out on top 3 to 1.
After that game we were full of confidence and travelled to Bathurst for a rematch of last years grand final against Collegians.
Sadly for us things didn't go well and we were beaten 5 to 2.
Next game was against Bathurst Red Tops in Bathurst in very poor conditions.
The girls showed that they are mud runners and won the game 5 to 1.
Next assignment was against competition leaders Bathurst City Colts at home.
The girls started like a shot out of a gun and raced to a 3 to 1 lead before being caught close to full time and end up with a 3-all draw.
The next game was against Young Lionesses at Young.
We have never played there before so this was a game we treated with respect.
Once the girls found their feet their natural game came into play and we went on to win 5 to 0.
Back home again we went on to play Eglinton, a side that is on a similar position on the table as us.
This game proved to be a bit different for us as Coach Vinny had to go to Sydney to sort out some money matters with the big boys.
His uncle Guiseppe rang assistant coach Troy on the morning of the game to say that Vinny wouldn't be coming back unless he could talk his way out of a problem that they had.
We all felt bad for Vinny because we knew that he was only armed with a pencil and a mouthful of cheek and that could get him into a lot of trouble in front of the board of big boys.
Anyway with Troy at the helm we went into battle against Eglinton.
The game didn't start good for us with Eglinton scoring the first goal.
Troy told the girls to pull their socks up which they did and by half time we were leading 2 to 1.
A big team talk by Troy at half time fired the girls up again and by half way through the second half we led 3 to 1.
At this stage Troy was thinking this is too easy and went over to the Strapper and told him to take over as he had to go.
Before he went he gave heaps of instructions to the strapper to do as the game went on.
Well the strapper having no knowledge of the rules of the game waited till Troy left and decided to spring his own surprise plan.
As soon as there was a stoppage in play he called all the replacement girls on the sideline to go on and then we would outnumber them 2 to 1.
Good plan he thought until the girls on the field started yelling at him and asking what the hell he was doing.
After a hasty exit by some of the girls including Erin, the game continued and Erin told the part-time coach that he wasn't allowed to do that.
By this time the whole side was flustered and Eglinton made an attacking raid towards our goal.
In desperation Lilly our last line of defence made a great tackle to stop them only to be penalised.
From that penalty Eglinton scored 3 to 2.
With perspiration dripping off his brow and some good advice from Erin we got the side back together and scored another goal with five minutes to go to win the game 4 to 2.
Vince finally returned to see the last few minutes of the game and on hearing what went on he Sin Binned the strapper for the rest of the year.
End of round 2.
Round 3 started with Orange Waratahs at Orange.
In very wet conditions and our girls being proven mud runners we won a hard fought game 3 to 0.
So now you are all up to date with what has happened.
