Last Sunday at Koorawatha our Open Juniors played a trial game against Grenfell. We thank Grenfell for travelling to Koorawatha to play which enabled our boys to have their first hit out in a number of weeks., The Seniors played Koorawatha at Koorawatha on Sunday in a very tough game which saw the Jets victorious by 40 to 26., Coach’s Comment: The score really didn’t tell the story of the game which was a very hard fought match. With the Tigers sticking to the game plan reasonable well, focussing fairly closely on playing out their sets of six, they kept Koorawatha within reach in the first half, their go forward defence the only thing letting them down. The half time score being 20-10., The team stuck to the game plan for the first 20 minutes of the second half taking the lead from Koorawatha 26 to 24 and looked very strong at this stage but allowed Koorawatha back into the game through fouls in their defensive game. All the players indicated their awareness of their shortfall and I feel confident they will rectify this during the week., But all in all I was happy with the performance. , Tries: Luke Fliedner 2, Josh Lynch 2, Craig Earsman 1 with Luke kicking 3 goals., Josh Lynch played an inspiring game at half to pick up the Dave Cooper Memorial Player’s Player and the 3 best and fairest points. Josh was well supported by Luke Fliedner at five eighth and Luke was to top the tackle count and gain the 2 points. George Delaney’s go forward all match saw him score the 1 point and top the hit ups. , This weekend the Tigers will play at Canowindra on Sunday. The Open Juniors will play Grenfell at 1pm. The Seniors playing Woodstock with the kick off at 2.30pm., GO THE TIGERS.,
