Following the June long weekend bye the junior Tigers were in action again on Saturday at the Oval as they overpowered Grenfell in all four age groups.
Under 8's
The Under 8's have a settled look to their team as the combinations are starting to appear with some interesting results.
Joe Coady and Angus Fisher each scored three trys each in the running game, closely followed by Shae Reid with two trys of his own.
Josh Middleton and Andrew Cutmore chimed in with a try each for the total of ten trys for the eights.
Jacob Fisher added a conversion while Andrew Cutmore and Angus Fisher converted one each of their trys, while Matt Ryan, Aaron Manwhinnon and Dan Edwards scored a try each for the Goannas for a full time score of 46-12.
Although a late note regarding the Trundle game for the eights it was an accurate Brooke Donelly who converted a try for the Tigers which proved the difference at the end of the game, well done Brooke.
Under 10's
The Under 10s continued the rout of Grenfell as the Goannas couldn't cope with the pace either up the middle or out wide as the Tigers ran in eight trys in the 42-24 game.
Dyllan Crump had a fantastic game at full back as he judged his runs with precision and scored four trys, converted one for an eighteen point tally for the game.
Jordan Kemper, playing at centre, and forwards Max Wensley and Will Middleton scored a try each with Max converting his to add a further fourteen points to the 10's total.
Callum Clyburn turned the tiniest gap into points as he once again topped the try scorers for the tens as he crossed the line five times throughout the game and contributed twenty points to the tens total of forty two.
Try scorers for Grenfell were P. King, I Manwhinnon, A. Crutcher, and Will Middleton [ playing in Goannas colours] while S. Holz M. Stevens and J. Manwhinnon converted trys for the Goannas twenty four points.
Under 12's
The Under 12s were trying to live up to their average of fifty points per game as their steamroller of a season flattened the Goannas with a score of 68-0.
With 21 players to rotate on and off the field to give the 11s a run as well as the 12's the coach had his hands full as well as the scorers.
The score was 12 -0 inside the first five minutes as Josh Trayhurn and Alex Willson broke through the defence and scored a try and conversion a piece as each converted the others try.
Bradyn Cassidy set up the next two trys as Josh was in again and Bailey Cain went over for the fourth try as the Goannas defence couldn't cope with the free running play of the twelve's.
With so much space to run in the 12s practiced their passing skills as the game became almost a training run.
Tim Wythes set up Harry Whatman for the Tigers fifth try while Bradyn Cassidy skirted the right hand touchline before scoring under the posts making the conversion easy for half Rohan Toole.
Right on the half time bell, Josh literally ran in Bradyn's footsteps as he scored his third try of the game which Ben Bermingham easily converted for a 42-0 half time score.
The break didn't ease the Goannas pain as soon after the break centre George Carroll ran fifteen metres through the Grenfell defence and ran round and placed the ball under the black dot and after Pete McNamara's conversion the lead stretched to forty eight points.
Jumara Cutmore was next over the line as he took the ball just in Goannas half and then ran thirty metres to score under the posts, where Tim Middleton added the extras.
Birthday-boy Josh Trayhurn made it four for the day when he palmed a Grenfell defender on the half way line and ran down the left hand line and round under the posts for the try.
Good passing from Bradyn, Rohan and Pete McNamara and strong, determined running from Sam McKenzie saw Sam go over the line on the left of the post for his first ever try.
Jumara added the extras and following a penalty for a strip in the tackle Bailey Cain bustled his way over the line for the teams final try and a full time score of 68-0.
Good luck this week to the Under 12s representing Western Region at Batemans Bay and good luck to the open boys primary school team when they take on Forbes Primary at Forbes in the Western Region semi final of the Westmont Shield.
Under 14's
The Under 14s again had a bit of a training run as Grenfell forfeited the game and then six Tigers became Goannas for the game and played their usual team mates in a game the Tigers won 48-16.
Connor Bennett, Troy Jenkins, James Watson, Zac Rue, Kain Earsman and Simon Whatman were the honorary Goannas and almost immediately Zac and Simon began to reorganise the Grenfell side.
It was the Goannas who scored first after a dummy half dive in the left corner resulted in a four pointer to Grenfell.
A determined Jack Knight erased the deficit soon after with a determined run which split the defence and after a bounce or two off the goalpost pads Jack placed the ball for the 14s first four points.
This was stretched to six following Matt McLean's conversion and soon after Makk McNaught crossed the try line for the Tigers second try mid way between the left upright and corner post.
Makk made it 14-4 not long after as he copied the dummy half dive and went under the defence for his second try of the game.
Matt McLean was on the end of some deft backline passes as he crossed the line wide out for a four pointer and made stretched the lead to fourteen points.
Lachie Clulow broke the defence with a bustling run and after a couple of miracle passes from Lachie and Jack Knight Harry Myers scored in the left hand corner.
Tiger turned Goanna, Troy Jenkins narrowed the gap slightly, 22-8, after a bamboozling run which started on half way at the right touchline and finished up with a try in the left corner, with many a Tiger floundering in his wake.
A twin Willson combination resulted in the Tigers next try as Blake Willson [playing at five eight] hit the ball up strongly before he offloaded to brother Nick who scored in the left hand corner and right on half time Tiger debutante, James Ryan made it a dream debut after he scored his first ever try in the opposite corner for a 30-8 half time score.
After a talk from the coach at half time the Tigers came out even more enthusiastic and Nick Willson crossed for the second time before a Grenfell Under 12 playing up an age group slipped through the Tigers defence with a slippery, weaving run and added another four points to Grenfell's total.
Nick Willson then showed he is a bit of a practical joker as he executed a forward roll before he placed the ball over the line for his third try.
Michael Watt then scored a try after another bustling run from Lachie Clulow, but Lachie finally got his own try after another run which finished up behind the black dot for his first try with the Tigers.
Final scorer for the game was Kain Earsman for Grenfell as he forced his way through the Tigers defence and went over the line with a few Tigers hanging off him.
Once again thanks to those six who played for Grenfell with the competitiveness from the boys which saw the six singled out for some special attention but it was all in fun.
A huge thanks to all those rostered families who did their turn in the canteen, it made the day run smoothly and your help was really appreciated.
This week the junior Tigers face the long trek to West Wyalong, although once again the 16s have a 'bye' as West Wyalong doesn't have the older team either.
