Now it is summer sport time and not rugby league time but there is some news following the Canowindra Junior Rugby League meeting.
Peter Watt is once again president while Paul Earsman and Col Tangye are vice presidents and Cindy Willson has agreed to carry on as treasurer, a post she excelled at in 2007.
After discussion during the meeting and due to a successful 2007 the Junior League has decided to lower registration fees across the age groups to try and get a few more younger players to don the Tigers colours.
Registrations costs for the under 8s will be $25 per child while the under 10s, 12s, 14s, and 16s will be $35 per player.
But wait, there’s more: for this cost each player will receive a free pair of socks and shorts as well as a T-shirt from the jumper manufacturer.
The new jumpers have been ordered and after a predominately white with orange and black the Tiger orange is back with the black and white highlights and an easier number to read.
So while you’re following that black line up the pool at swimming training, fielding at fine leg or waiting to run at Little A’s, consider what you want to do for sport when its cold next year and thin about donning the Tigers colours.
For those interested in coaching in 2008 applications need to be in by the next meeting on January 21, 2008 so contact Peter Watt if you are interested.
