Canowindra scored first via some Haydon Hodge brilliance.

But Cowra replied with a couple of tries of their own.

With furious and at some times uncompromising defence, the young Tigers gained the upper hand and went on to win.

Four more tries were scored. Two to Ken Turnbull and one each to Karl Maere and Tom Roth.

It is believed this was the first time Canowindra under 16s have ever beaten a Cowra under 16s team.

The real test will come this weekend when we travel to Condobolin for the first competition game. But what a fabulous start to the year.
