The Canowindra tigresses came out with all guns blazing to begin the Grand Final with a bang.
Some serious and very solid defence kept the Eugowra Geagles at bay.
The play soared from end to end with exciting raids from both teams but it was Canowindra who scored first.
Monique Jenart touched down out wide after some excellent work by the Tigresses through the mid field.
Next to score was Madi Vitnell who burst through the defence and ran 50 metres to evade the chasing defenders and score next to the posts.
Eugowra replied just before half time to bring it back to 2-1 Canowindra.
Some inspiring words from coach Mick Vitnell at the break seemed to have the desired effect with the Tigresses playing with skill, speed and precision.
Casey Edwards was next to score and extended Canowindra’s lead to 3-1.
From there it was like an arm wrestle until Madi Vitnell again broke the hearts of the Geagles to race away and score untouched to take it to 4-1 and give Canowindra one hand on the coveted trophy.
To Eugowra’s credit they never gave up and pushed the envelope to score a very good consolation try with 4 minutes to go and leave the final score at 4-2 to the Mighty Tigresses Premiers for 2011.
