Fielding questions from school children such as “do you all have six packs?” was one of the more awkward assignments handed out to Canberra players during their visit to the district on Monday.
Raiders’ players visited St Edwards and Canowindra Public to help promote the game and build their supporter base ahead of their February 23 trial against Brisbane in Orange next year.
Players were split up into groups of four and greeted children at St Edwards Primary and Canowindra Public as well as Mulyan Public, Cowra Public, Cowra High and St Raphael’s.
Players spoke to students about the lifestyle of a footballer and the strict training and diet regimes they are faced with each day.
They also told children about their backgrounds in rugby league and a variety of other sports apart from the one they play for a living.
