At the first meeting of the Canowindra Junior Rugby League Colin Tangye was awarded life membership of the junior league club.
Colin was nominated by Barry Traves for ten years of outstanding commitment.
Since joining the Club Colin has coached for ten years starting at Under 11’s and going up to the Under 16’s.
Colin capped his ten years of coaching last year as he coached both the Under 11’s and Under 12’s to premierships of the Parkes and District Rugby League competitions.
This was a massive effort as often tens played up in the 11s side and half that side then backed up and played in the Under 12’s, a testament to both good coaching and diplomacy skills.
Col’s qualifications include grading in the National Coaching Scheme, CPR and first aid as well as being a level one referee.
So after he controlled his charges from the coaches bench, Col then ran around on the field refereeing the older age groups.
If that wasn’t enough work for Colin he has also been secretary for the Club and dealt with all the behind the scenes paper and after hours work.
The Canowindra Junior Rugby League is proud to recognise Colin’s commitment to the club with this award of life membership.
