Damian has been with the Canowindra Tigers as a first grade player for the past three seasons being named player of the year in 2007.

He previously played junior football for Canowindra before travelling to Blayney playing in the under 18s and grade sides.

Damian returned for a short stint, in the 2000 season, for the Tigers before joining the Palmerston Raiders in the Darwin rugby league competition from 2001-05.

In 2008 Kennedy was chosen to represent the Woodbridge Cup as halfback in the centenary of league

representative matches.

Damian’s main focus for 2009 will be skills and improving the players’ fitness levels.

Doug Rice and Matthew Rice will assist, making up the Tigers coaching staff.

The Canowindra Tigers have been buoyed by the prospect of fielding an under 18s team in 2009.

An under 18s competition in the Woodbridge Cup is now looking like a distinct possibility with between four and six sides set to be included.

Under 18s coaching applications are now being taken as well as applications for manager and first aid officer.

Applications close January 16, 2009, and should be addressed to, Canowindra Rugby League, PO Box 159, Canowindra 2804.

The Tigers will be holding pool sessions from Tuesday, January 6, at 5.30pm.

All intending under 18 and senior players are invited to attend at Canowindra swimming pool.

The committee of the Tigers has remained the same for 2009 after a very successful 2008.

Andrew Pull has been named president, Pam Cooper secretary, Leanne Stevenson treasurer, Doug Rice and George Delaney vice-presidents with the general committee consisting of Ken Wilson, John Chittick, Steve Shorten and Damian Kennedy.
