The Canowindra Tigers will clash with the Koorawatha Jets on Sunday.
The home game at Tom Clyburn Oval will kick off at 2.00pm.
Canowindra will be looking to improve on their brave effort against the Grenfell Goannas on Saturday.
Canowindra coach Andrew Pull will be looking for new sponsorship from Telstra after his telephone did not stop ringing in the hours before kick off.
For a variety of reasons the 20 man squad was reduced to just 13 by the time the 4.00pm kick off came around.
Veteran forward Steve Shorten played well for 30 minutes till a nasty head clash saw him leave the field and the Tigers played out the final 50 minutes with just 12 men.
Despite this, the Tigers hung with Grenfell for 65 minutes of the game. Every time the Goannas looked to get ahead, Canowindra would bounce back and bridge the gap.
At one stage some great play be Dom Langham, Rusty Kennedy and Rob Burn looked like the twelve man outfit would power past Grenfell and score an historic win but one missed opportunity saw Grenfell race away 80 metres to score and the momentum of the game changed.
Despite massive defensive displays by Bill Egberts, Moey Berminham, Brenton Woolley and Snow Jones the twelve man team ran out of legs in the final fifteen minutes and Grenfell ran away with the victory.
Nick Agustin scored two great tries with quality passes from Bob and Damien. Dave Sargent made a number of big runs into the Grenfell line.
Brock White carried an injury into the game and toughed it out defending his wing while James Julligan defended his sideline admirably.
Try scorers were Nick Agustin 2, Bill Egberts and Damien Kennedy 1 each with Rob Burn kicking two goals for final score of 50 to 20.
Voted the Player's Player and receiving the 3 best and fairest points was Rusty Kennedy, Moey Bermingham picked up the 2 best and fairest points with the 1 points shared by Dom Langham and Brock White.
There has been a lesson learnt and unfortunately that will be the last Saturday game for the Tigers.
The weekend results for Round 6 were:
Grenfell 50 d Canowindra 20
Cargo 54 d Peak Hill 26
Burrangong 52 d Condobolin 28
Koorawatha had the bye.
The Competition Ladder after Round 6: Condobolin 10, Koorawatha 8, Cargo 8, Canowindra 6, Burrangong 6, Grenfell 6 and Peak Hill 4.
Next week the game against Koorawatha will be hard fought as the game against Canowindra always brings out the best in the Jets.
Remember kick off with be 2.00pm on Sunday.
Go the Tigers!!!
