The Canowindra Tigers will be revealing their new playing strip this Friday night March 28.
The launch will take place at the Tigers major sponsor the Canowindra Golf Club.
The new strip was voted on by all those present at presentation night, over 65 votes.
Two local identities Rob Burn and Lisa Chittick will model the strip.
Shortly after 7pm the models will be on the catwalk.
The Following Sunday Canowindra Tigers travel to Cargo to take on the competition favourites at Cargo Oval in Round one of the Competition.
This seasons Woodbridge Cup shapes as one of the strongest ever.
Three teams returning Eugowra, Trundle, Molong, and the inclusion of Manildra will see eleven sides take the field for season 2008.
Round two the following weekend will see Canowindra at home to Peak Hill.
This game will coincide with the “Celebrating sport in Canowindra weekend”.
That game will be played on Saturday at 5.00pm.
It shapes as a great day for Canowindra with junior league, Rugby Union and senior league all playing on the day.
Tom Clyburns “Jack Hore Memorial Cup” blazer will be presented to the Historical Society on the day.
Anyone that doesn’t know the Jack Hore Cup story, I advise you to head down to the museum to see the display and buy the “Jack Hore Memorial Cup” book researched and written by Ron Worboys.
Investigating the great traditions of the Canowindra Tigers, we are currently trying to track down the day they were established?
If anyone can help find out that information please contact the club.
