On Saturday the Canowindra Pythons played host to the Orange Waratahs.
It was a game the boys had to make amends with after the disappointing losses suffered in the previous two weeks.
After Canowindra won the toss, the boys were able to cross the line early with a try to Pete Stacey. But the Waratahs soon equalled the score with a try of their own soon afterwards.
However, from there on it was one-way traffic with the Python outfit far too strong for the Orange boys.
The second half proved a try fest for the Canowindra team, after a halftime score of 22-5, with every one playing their part in either setting up a try or scoring one.
The following players picked up tries through out the game - Sam Wythes got a hat-trick, Rolls Townsend got two, Pete Stacey, Sam O' Malveney, James Wythes, Oliver Wythes, Cam Guihot, Craig Hogan and Boshy all got a five pointer each and 6 were converted.
Congratulations to Ben Boschenok who also got his 100th cap for the Canowindra Pythons on the weekend.
Ben has been sitting on 99 for the last two years while in Brisbane and Greg Middleton was kind enough to allow Ben take his spot on the paddock to pick his 100th game up.
So thanks to Greg and congrats to Boshy.
The best and fairest points for the weekend went to Rolls Townsend(3) Craig Hogan(2) and Marc Wheeldom and Cameron Guihot shared the one. Players' player went to Sam Wythes and Cameron Guihot. Congratulations to all of them.
The club would like to thank everyone that braved the cold conditions to come and cheer on the boys on the weekend.
This weekend will see Canowindra at home again against the competition leaders Molong, in what will be a very important game for the Pythons to try and secure a top three spot in the ladder.
It would be great to see everyone come to the oval and cheer the boys on to break Molong's unbeaten run so far this year.
Also, the following week the Canowindra team will be travelling to Blayney and if enough interest was shown will be taking a supporters bus, as Blayney are holding their Ladies/Supporters day.
The cost of the bus will be about $15-20.
If you would be interested in going on the bus please let either Kirby Lawrence 0427840431 or Suzie Beasley 0438 649377 know, or see them this weekend at the home game against Molong.
