Throw the kids into junior rugby

27 Feb, 2008 07:29 AM
Do you want to be a Wallaby, a Waratah or a Brumby?

Or better still, a Python?

Canowindra junior rugby will be starting soon.

Canowindra junior rugby is part of Central West rugby union and covers clubs from Central West NSW.

Most clubs hold a gala day which is like a tournament where the players play three short games in the morning in a round robin format.

The gala days are held on Sunday usually every second or third week or so and are over by lunchtime.

The age group format has yet to be formalised but the youngest team (under 8s) play modified two hand touch where girls are allowed and encouraged to play, the under 10s play tackle on a small field with limited players and the under 12s play on a larger field with more players.

The committee is ready, the coaches are ready, are you?

Stay tuned for registration dates.
