Brotherly love will take on new meaning on Saturday night when Kyle and Chase Stanley play their first top-grade match together.
The Charity Shield has a habit of consuming players with its tradition but for the Stanley brothers, it will be something more personal, stirring the fire in their belly in the annual battle against South Sydney.
For St George Illawarra fullback Kyle Stanley, there will be plenty of motivation when he runs on to ANZ Stadium after numerous injury setbacks. He will have another crack at the fullback role vacated by Darius Boyd. And, of course, there's the opportunity to play alongside his big brother Chase.
''I was four years old when I first started playing … so it's been a long time coming, definitely,'' Kyle, 20, said.
