Post Shop delivers touch title

Canowindra Senior Touch Football Competition came to a close recently with both A grade and B grade grand finals being played. In B grade, Canowindra Services Club ran out winners over Belabula Butchery. Mitch Gosper was named player of the match. In A grade, Australia Post Shop barely held onto their undefeated record, with a try as the bell rang securing their victory. Ken McNamarra was named player of the match.

At the presentation, competition organiser, Mr Eric Toole thanked all those that helped throughout the year in particular The Canowindra Golf Club for their major sponsorship, Harcombe Energy for their sponsorship of the finals series and The Canowindra Pythons Rugby Club for their organisational support.

This is the second year in a row that teams when nominating must also select an area of responsibility. This has meant that the workload is spread over a larger workforce, ensuring that the competition has run smoothly.

The major awards for the night included Steve Maere, A grade Best and Fairest, Paul Kelly, B grade Best and Fairest. Jacob Hodge, A grade top try scorer, Paul Kelly B grade Top Try Scorer. A grade Sportsmanship, Gary Whatman, B grade Sportsmanship. Cameron Guihot.
