Bushranger enthusiasts abound at author's talk

More than forty people attended the Canowindra Services Club last Saturday to hear Craig Bratby's fascinating talk on bushranger, John Vane, who was one of the gang that raided Canowindra in 1863. Craig traced the life of John Vane with many pictures of people and places associated with him.

John Vane gave himself up after his best mate and fellow bushranger, Micky Burke, was shot by Gold Commissioner, Henry Keightley, at Dunn's Plains near Rockley on 24 October 1863.

Craig Bratby is to launch his book on John Vane at Neville Show on Saturday, 9 November 2013.

In the audience were several bushranger enthusiasts, some claiming to be related to them.
