A bleak day for junior Tigers against Red Bend

On Saturday May 19 the Canowindra Junior Tigers were at home to Red Bend for this round.

Unfortunately Red Bend were way too strong for all age groups and ran out winners in every game.

Under 8s

In the first third the scoreboard remained pointless for much of the time with both teams showing great attack and defence unfortunately right near the whistle Red Bend ran in the first points with a converted try.

Going into the second third Eli Reid broke through the defence line with a try that wasn’t successfully converted.

Jordan Moore, Dylan Slattery and Blake Simpson showed some great defence throughout the game

Red Bend had soon stepped up a gear with another two converted tries beore the final third.

This put the score at 18-4.

Making some great breaks through the defence was Harrison Warn, Jordan Smith, Jordan Moore and Alex Haywood unfortunately Red Bend’s defence held us back.

Red Bend took the final score to 26-4 with two more unconverted tries.

Under 10s

The boys were working hard right from the kick off with Red Bends attack being brilliant.

Working hard in defence for Tigers was Max Coady, Joab Fisher, Isaac Trainor, Lachlan Warn and Santi Tapim.

Unfortunately by the time the whistle blew for half time the score had blown out to 20-0.

Not to be detered the boys came back in the second half showing some enthusiasm which grew as Codie Reid ran in our first try, the boss were happy to have some points on the board.

Throughout the game we saw some good runs from Pedro Tapim, Jake Haywood and Joab Fisher.

Our boys just couldnt get past the defence line of Red Bend and the final score ended up at 44-4

Better luck next week boys

Thanks goes out to Eli Reid and Jordan Moore who backed up from the under 8s.

Under 12s

The under 12s played some really good football this week with the team working together well.

Red Bend were fielding a very strong side with boys a lot bigger than our Tigers.

Some great attack was seen from Joe Coady, Jacob Fisher and Angus Fisher, Lynden Smith with the defence from Jacob Nash, Shae Reid and Austin Pengilly.

The boys should be proud of their game even though they were beaten the score at the final whistle was just 16-0.

Under 16s

Another hard fast week where our under 16s went down due to lack of numbers and injuries.

Red Bend had ran in two tries both of which were converted before Tigers Josh Trayhurn put a try over the line which was converted by Tim Middleton.

Another try from Red Bend put the 1/2 time score at 18-6.

Fighting back in the second half with a try from Alex Willson and Tim Middleton both of which Tim converted. This took the score to 22-18 and a win seemed in reach.

Unfortunately Red Bend had other ideas and came back harder and faster in the last 20 minutes and managed to put another 18 points on the board which took the final score to 38-18.
