Folk@Canowindra is on again this Sunday, May 27, at taste Canowindra.
As well as a diverse array of open mike acts, we will be featuring James and Sue Daley from Portland, NSW. Sue and James have made the trek out to Canowindra a few times before, and their music has been enjoyed:
As the ghosts of John Fahey and Mississippi John Hurt hound James Daley, he plays Guitar and Banjo to the point of obsession: which works out well for Sue Daley. Sue knows some stories, stories that have ascended to myth, and have anchored themselves in her bones, and she needed a man obsessed to bring them to life … James has crafted the breath and heartbeat for the poetry of Sues lyrics. And Sue sings them in a voice described by Kevin Walsh as ‘Spooky and cool’ and by reviewer Julius Timmerman (JAM) as ‘sweetly caressing’
As usual, there is free entry, with a voluntary donation to the feature act. Coffee, cake, wine & meals are all available at the venue.
