Double the performance

Canowindra Public School had not one but two choirs at this year's Cowra Eisteddfod.

Their Infants choir - with 60 students, the largest group entered - received a highly commended.

They sang two songs, Arnham Land Lullaby and Swing on a Star and received many positive comments, including those from the adjudicators - "the choir had a lovely start and their words were well projected, they also said that they are a well disciplined choir".

Infants Choir conductor Sandy McDonald Palmer was also full of praise for her students.

"All students looked beautiful and were so focused. They should be very proud of themselves because their hard work has paid off."

The primary choir had 30 students and also sang two songs, Old Man Emu and a Spanish/Mexican lullaby called Sleep My Little One.

They received first place.

"I'm so proud of all the students, all their hard work has paid off and they have done their school proud," said their conductor, Sophie Jones.

Canowindra Public school were joint winners for the overall highest point score for a school.
