Jack's volunteering efforts gain the Premier's approval

After spending over 150 hours volunteering in the community Canowindra High School student Jack Beath will today receive a Premier's Student Volunteering award for his work.

Jack will receive a Black Opal Award for his contributions to the community under the Premier's Student Volunteering Awards program, and will be one of 22 students from across the region being recognised for their voluntary work in a ceremony at Grenfell's Henry Lawson High School.

The 16-year-old Year 10 student said it is good to be recognised after the work he did for the community.

"It was a fair bit of workload but it was worth it to help people out," he said.
