Members of the Holden FB-EK Club parked on the historic main street to see Charlie McCarron's 1948 FX Holden in its original condition at Canowindra Motors Holden Museum.
The gem of Mr McCarron's collection, his FX Holden was the 46th car produced on the very first assembly line of Holden cars manufactured in Australia in 1948.
He gets lots of car clubs passing through Canowindra stopping by to check out "the most famous Holden in the world", but Mr McCarron said Saturday's group were the biggest he's had, with 200 people descending on the museum.
"Holdens are Australia's own car - or were," Mr McCarron said.
"FB-EK Holdens represented 50 per cent of the Australian new car market from when they were launched until 1961."
Famous for their colourful two-tone colour schemes, big fins, wraparound windscreen and lots of chrome, NSW Club President Tim Brook said many people often have fond memories of their family owning an FB-EK Holden.
"Following a decade of rock n roll, slick oiled hair and TV hits such as I Love Lucy, the FB and EK Holden rode a wave of popularity for all things American," he said.
"The FB-EK received a total makeover and elements of US design were incorporated into the new design, but the FB and EK Holden always had a distinctively Australian style and built for Australian conditions."
