“We need to support regional communities and this is another great program that supports regional theatre through Arts NSW, with funding of up to $60,000 for one year, or up to $75,000 for projects delivered over two years,” Mr Grant said.
“This funding will support the development of new theatre works, presented and produced by people living in regional communities, and performed by regional actors.
“The projects the NSW Government is supporting will develop the skills of regional playwrights, actors, production staff and other creative practitioners, and help to grow audiences for regional theatre.”
Arts Outwest will put the $60,000 towards the final developmental stages of the Silos project.
An innovative, site-specific physical theatre project based in Canowindra involving community participants, professional local artists and organisers, alongside performers and creatives from Sydney-based company, Legs On the Wall.
The group will work together to create a spectacular performance on the town's iconic silos.
“This will be a great event and I encourage the community to keep an eye out for further details of the event which will bring something different to the region.” Mr Grant said.
Regional Theatre Project funding is provided by Arts NSW.
