The city of Stonnington's inaugural Glow festival is underway this week with more than a dozen activities and events on offer every day. Friday and Saturday evening feature a free outdoor extravaganza for families in Prahran's Green Street, including wandering performances from Born in a Taxi, excerpts from KAGE's dance-meets-heavy-machinery show Forklift, architectural projections and live music. There's a light/dark theme running through many of the festival's events, which include a candlelight tour of Como House, several exhibitions of light-based art and the UK's gargantuan Exxopolis Luminarium, an inflatable labyrinth half the size of a football field. The program also includes comedy, free outdoor cinema nights and rooftop installations. glowfestival.com.au
