Despite being a small school more than 50 students were involved in the energetic, colourful and entertaining show. Students ran every aspect of the show from costume design and creation, choreography, set design and artwork, lighting, sound and staging.
It is often the creative behind the scenes work and teamwork ideals that prove to be the most valuable experiences. Many students had their first experiences on stage and had to develop the confidence to overcome nerves and stage fright.
The big dance numbers proved challenging for the performers with extensive choreography, limited space and always having to think of the group presentation. Our drama boys overcame natural shyness to creatively manage and entertain an audience and to bring out their long forgotten dance skills.
The lighting and stage crew worked like a well-oiled machine using their teamwork and problem solving skills to cope with many issues.
Additionally the fantastic leadership shown by a group of coordinating and directing students allowed the show to develop into the production that we can all be proud of.
All in all it was a wonderful experience to see students from a wide range of ages and year groups enjoying each other's company in a positive and memorable shared experience.
Well done Canowindra High!
