The success of the show is only achieved through the committed volunteers, exhibitors, sponsors and visitors. No matter what your level of skill or interest, there's always a section or more that will inspire and amaze you.
The Cobley Pavilion is expecting great entries demonstrating the skill and talent from local and regional people of all ages. Make sure you read through the Sections available to exhibitors listed in the Show Schedule for guidelines and because new classes are being introduced to provide a greater variety.
As always, after the show, everyone's welcome to send in thoughts and suggestions regarding the Cobley Pavilion and if you are interested in becoming involved as a Section Helper or as a sponsor please contact Margaret Hamiliton on 63450427.
The Show Office is located at the NRMA Office in Gaskill Street Canowindra commencing Monday, September 15 through to Friday, September 19 and Monday, September 22 to Wednesday, September 24 from 10am to 4pm and Thursday, September 25 from 10am until 12 noon, Show Office is then closed.
Entry Forms are in the Show Schedule Book or loose entry forms are available at the Show Office. Entries are welcome anytime during our open hours. To avoid disappointment please be aware that late entries in the Cobley Pavilion can only be accepted in Home Mades and Cut Flowers Sections. Section Ua Photography entries close at 12 noon on Wednesday, September 24 and must be entered by then.
Last year saw the introduction of 'Section Q - Quilting and Patchwork' which received a fantastic quantity of exhibits displaying excellent quality of craftsmanship. This year expectations are high for continued entries in this Section.
'Section S: Needlework' invites handmade items, in particular hand knitted exhibits. Section S brings together skill, precision and tradition that has been demonstrated throughout the history of the Cobley Pavilion.
'Section U: Fine Arts' expects more great works of art from all levels of experience, style and medium preference. Section U has a wide range of Classes so now is the time to start thinking about your exhibits. 3D Sculpture and 3D Recycled Sculpture entries are also welcomed.
n 'Section Ua: Photography' looks forward to another fantastic display of captured moments. There are 'new' Classes starting this year, Digital Class Black & White Baby Photo (under 2 yrs) and Digital Colour Baby Photo under 2 yrs).
The Cobley Pavilion is expected to provide a fantastic array of local produce and creations. Whatever your garden or kitchen produces there's sure to be a Section and Class for you. The following Sections include Classes for all ages with special attention given to children.
n 'Section O: Dairy, Fruit & Garden Produce' include Eggs, Fruit, Decorative Fruit Basket, Vegetables, Herbs and the very popular Animal made from Fruit or Vegetable.
n 'Section P: Home Mades' include the District Special Fruit Cake, Group Fruit Cake, a wide range of cakes, including the Cake made by a Man, Decorated Cakes, Scones, Tarts, Meringues, Biscuits and a wide range of opportunity for children of all ages to enter into. New Classes include Children 9-12 yrs Scones, Gingerbread, Pikeletes, Coconut Icde, Sponge Sandwich, Chocolate Packet Cake, Plain Decorated Cake and Anzac Biscuits. Children 5-8 yrs decorated Cupcakes, Plain Decorated Cake and Gingerbread. The popular Pre-school age Arrowroot Biscuits Decorated and Decorated Cup Cakes will again be available.
n 'Section R: Preserves' include Jams, Marmalades, Sauces, Relish, Pickles, Preserves and Decorative Arrangement of Jams.
'Section T: Cut Flowers' include a wonderful selection of Flowers, Bulbs and Shrubs which always delights the senses.
n 'Section Ta: Decorative Flowers' provide a visual feast of colour and creativity including a wide variety of arrangements, including Depicting a Song, Pot Plants (size restricted to 30cm maximum pot) and again opportunities for children of all ages to take part in.
n 'Section V: Junior Art' provides a fantastic platform for children from Kindergarten, Infants, Lower Primary, Upper Primary and Secondary to display their creative works of Art throughout a vast range of mediums and techniques. Section V is for School Exhibitors from Canowindra and surrounding small Schools. Take the opportunity to see the great talent that the children in our community are developing.
n 'Section X: Craft Work' has Exhibits for Home Spun Wool, Toy or Teddy Bear, Wool Embroidery, Cushion, Carry Bag, Tapestry, Cross Stitch, Pin Cushion, Needle Case, Beading, Greeting Card, Scrap Book Page, Metal Work and Wood Work. Classes for Pre-School age are Lego, Pasta Work and Macaroni Necklace; Primary School age include K-NEX, Lego, Farm Yard, Sewing and Scrap Book Page; Year 7-10 and Year 11-12 both have Wood Work, Metal Work, Sewing and Scrap Book Page. If an item doesn't fit into one of these Classes there's always Any Item Not Mentioned throughout the different age groups.
