The pool will open on Saturday, October 4 from 10am to 6pm, with 'Just Keep Swimming' swimming school with Melanie Stanbury to kick off on Monday 6. Ms Stanbury encouraged all children from ages six months to 10 years to begin swimming school.
"As a swimming teacher, we teach children skills that will last a lifetime and potentially save lives," she said.
"I grew up on the coast and swimming was just part of my life, I was swimming from six months old."
Ms Stanbury has trained and volunteered as a lifesaver at the beach, worked as a lifeguard un public pools and has trained and worked as an Austswim qualified swimming teacher.
"I have also just completed my Swim and Survive program which now enables me to teach the Royal Life Saving- water safety and survival skills also," she said.
"All staff that work for me will also have these same qualifications."
Just Keep Swimming will be running three programs over the summer, including term four which runs up until Christmas. A 10 day holiday program will also run in the first two weeks of January and a six week term one program.
Cost is $126 for term four and a maximum of four children will be in each class, ensuring your child receives the best in qualified swim training. Registration day will be held from 10.30am to 1pm on Saturday, October 4 at the Canowindra Pool.
The Canowindra Swimming Club will officially kick off on Friday, October 17 and is open to all ages and swimming levels. An information night will be held on Friday, October 10 for any new members interested in signing up. Pool manager, Jarrod Strange encouraged everyone to come along.
"It's open to all ages and swimming levels so if anyone would like info on how to sign up, come along," he said.
For all those brave souls willing to shed the layers a little earlier, head along to the Annual Canowindra Icebreakers on Thursday, October 2 and be one of the first to swim in the pool this season. The event will begin at 5.30pm, with the $20 per person going to the local swimming club. If you don't think you can brave the water but would like to see others try, head down, donate to the cause and watch from a front row spot as the goosebumps start to rise.
Along with swimming lessons, swimming club, squad training and school groups, the Canowindra Pool will also be hosting aqua therapy sessions run by a physiotherapist from the Canowindra Hospital.
A canteen will again be operating this season with takeaway orders welcome. No admission is charged for just purchasing takeaway so if you're not feeling up to a swim but some hot chips would do the trick, head along and pick some up at the Canowindra Pool.
Prices for the 2014-2015 summer season are; $210 for a family season pass, $100 for a single adult or child pass, $3.50 for daily entry, $2 for non-swimmers, $2.60 for school groups and all children under the age of five are granted free entry.
