Losing the toss proved to be blessing in disguise for captain Brendan Traves as Canowindra teared through the Young teams batting line-up on a soft Holman pitch, restricting them to 83.
Leg-spinner Gurpreet Singh (2-25) bowled a great spell with Brendan Traves (2-14) , Nick Traves (1-22) and young quick Harry Jeffry (1-14) all amongst the wicket takers.
In reply Canowindra never looked like losing as Ben Schaefer (42) took to the bowling including one six that he hit into the Lachlan River off the Coyotes opening bowler.
In the 16th over the winning runs were hit with Peter Guthrie (39) and Shaun Craven (1) remaining not out after only three wickets had fallen.
This weekend Canowindra will play at Holman against the winless Valleys.
