Mayor Michael Hayes said dwelling permissibility on vacant land that falls under the definition of an existing holding under the current Cabonne Local Environmental Plan will cease from 18 January 2015.
Land owners wishing to build on these existing holdings should lodge a development application with Cabonne Council prior to that date, Cr Hayes said.
If development approval is granted, applicants will have five years to physically commence work on their developments.
Cr Hayes said anyone wishing to discuss the matter with Council's planning staff should call the Council's Environmental Services Department on 6392 3247 or email council@cabonne.nsw.gov.au
Environmental Service staff are also available for appointments at the Canowindra Home and Community Care offices in Gaskill Street every Wednesday between 9.30am to 12.30pm.
