The event will start early today, with registrations and competition at 8am followed by the first woolshed tours at 9am.
Owner Jann Harries said excitement had been building for months, ever since the woolshed committee secured the National Shearing and Woolhandling Championships, the Trans-Tasman Cup and the Tri-nations event, involving gun shearers from Australia, South Africa and New Zealand.
“It is shaping up to be a huge weekend for us and it will also be another opportunity for us to show off our wonderful woolshed,” Mrs Harries said.
Shearers and woolhandlers from novices to champions began arriving yesterday to register and take part in mentoring sessions.
Activities and plenty of food and beverages have been organised for the shearers, woolhandlers and visitors.
Mrs Harries said there would be plenty of signposts to direct people to the woolshed, including where to park on arrival.
The last tour and events should finish around 4pm.
The shed was built in 1886 and in peak seasons saw 90,000 sheep shorn in one shearing season including sheep from neighbouring stations.
