The journey started with a bus trip from Canowindra city link bus stop to Lithgow train station. From there we caught a train to Central station in Sydney and another bus to the Sydney Academy of Sport in Narrabeen where we would be staying for the next week.
Once arriving at the camp we met some of the camp instructors, unpacked our bags and got ready for our first set of activities. We were led to the gymnasium were we played some indoor games followed by a swim in 25m indoor pool. Our night was capped off by watching 'The Hunger Games: Catching Fire'.
The next day we awoke early so we could get into our activities as soon as possible. After breakfast we got ready for the ropes course where we could choose from the low, medium or high ropes course. Following that we had lunch and then did both rock-climbing and archery. That night we went to Warringah Mall to go watch 'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1' and did some shopping at Surf, Dive and Ski.
On Wednesday we headed to the abseiling wall where we got to abseil down either a five or ten metre wall. Once finished there we got to head down to Lake Narrabeen for a sailing regatta. We also got to use the canoes, kayaks and surf rescue boards. That night we participated in a trivia night with other groups from camp.
The morning after we got up even earlier so that we could prepare for a day in Manly. We started the day off with a surfing lesson by Manly Surf School on Manly Beach. We were taught how to surf, bodyboard and bodysurf. Most students picked up surfing rather easily whilst others found it very difficult. After the surfing lesson we took a wander through the shopping centre and picked up a few souvenirs. Our night was complete with a spot of indoor archery.
On our last day we had breakfast early so we could head to King Pin Bowling in Darling Harbour for three games of laser tag followed by some more shopping and sightseeing around Darling Harbour. This was followed by a long trip back in to Canowindra arriving at 8pm.
We would like to thank the teachers who came on the excursion and Mr Phelan for organising it.
