It may have taken a few weeks to come together but the effort has been well-worth it for Ken Turnbull, winning The Canowindra News and Federation Fotos Christmas Lights competition.

Ken picked up a $100 voucher to be spent at a local business as a winning prize, plus a framed 8 x 10 photo of his home, courtesy of Federation Fotos.
While all ten entries shone, voters were in awe of the festive creation and the extra Christmas spirit on display at the Turnbull home.
"When I was a kid and we used to drive around looking at Christmas lights there was always a santa out the front so we dressed up this year and sat out the front with lollies for the kids," Ken said.
"There was so many kids, just one car after another so it was a really good night."
While he's been lighting up his home for the last few years, Ken picked up even more lights throughout last year and turned on the brightest display yet.
"It took a few weeks to put them all up and sometimes I was even doing it in my lunch break," he said.
"I put them up on my own but I did have some tips from my fiance Kate- she gave me plenty of direction."
Even though it took plenty of effort, Ken said the positive comments made it all worthwhile.
"Everyone said 'good work on the light' and then added 'how much is your electricity bill?" Ken laughed.
For the record, Ken assured everyone his lights aren't sending him broke.
"It's really not that bad to run at all- all the lights are LED which really helps," he said.
After conceding that they "came down a lot quicker than they went up," Ken is already looking ahead to an even brighter Christmas this year- but is keeping tight-lipped.
"I want to go bigger and better but there will be a little surprise," he laughed.
