"The WBC Strategic Alliance is a significant and successful collaboration between the Councils and Central Tablelands Water due to the ongoing shared services capacity combining a high level of expertise to improve services to local communities, expand employment and to help improve the sustainability of the member councils to meet community expectations," the statement read.
Councillor Scott Ferguson, Mayor of Blayney Shire Council said the hard work and leadership from the Councils' General Managers and the staff is instrumental to the successful outcomes.
"The savings and efficiencies for 2014 have totalled $520,269 bringing the cumulative total of savings to the Alliance of just over $5.7 million in 12 years," said Clr Ferguson.
"The intangible benefit to staff across these Councils sharing ideas, expertise and practices, is the greatest strengths of the Alliance yet it is very hard to quantify in monetary terms."
The top priorities for 2015 are; joint purchase and implementation of new Asset Management software; assist member Councils with response to Fit for the Future; joint implementation and training for the new Assets software; expand use of technologies and continue to support groups for IT, Environmental Services and Engineering
